Face

Face/Neck Lift

When you notice sagging in the midface and/or neck, sometimes no amount of non-invasive therapy will correct this aging. There may also be associated jowling and loose extra skin. A face lift (rhytidectomy) is a surgical procedure that can correct this sagging in the face. A neck lift (cervicoplasty) can address the neck portion. For women, usually the face/neck lift can be done in combination. Sometimes men only desire the neck lift in order to rid the “turkey gobble.” Rejuvenation of the forehead (brow lift) and of the eyelids (blepharoplasty) can also be performed in conjunction with face or neck lift surgery.

Brow Lift

A brow lift involves surgically lifting the position of the brows. Gravity and aging can cause the eyebrows to sag. Sometimes the sagging is not equal, leaving some people with uneven eyebrows. A brow lift will return the eyebrows to a higher position, offering a younger, less tired-looking appearance. In the case of uneven eyebrows, a brow lift can also even out the difference between the two sides to offer better symmetry.

Eyelid Lift/Eyebag Correction

With aging, the skin of the upper eyelids can seem to stretch out and become saggy. Sometimes, this excess skin can seem to droop and feel very heavy, giving you a tired appearance. Fortunately, an eyelift lift procedure, also known as blepharoplasty, can surgically remove this extra skin and rejuvenate the appearance of your eyes. The incision for this procedure is placed in your natural eye crease line so that the scar is almost imperceptible.

Similarly, the lower eyelids are also subject to the effects of aging. Some patients, however, are genetically predisposed to developing what are commonly called “eye bags.” Whatever the cause of these unsightly sagging lower eyelids, a lower eyelid lift can surgically reverse this sign of aging to give you fresh and youthful-appearing eyes.

Nose Reshaping/Rhinoplasty

Some patients feel that their noses are too big or too wide. Some do not like unsightly bumps or “hooks” on their noses. Still others have difficulty wearing certain eyeglass frames and sunglasses because they have low and flat nasal bridges. All of these nose issues can be corrected by rhinoplasty—surgical nose reshaping. Dr. Lee can personally discuss your objectives and desires for rhinoplasty. Whether you wish to alter the shape of your nose dramatically or subtlely, Dr. Lee can help you attain your goals.

Asian Eyelid Surgery

Some Asians desire the “double eyelid” crease. Asian Blepharoplasty is a minor surgical procedure that can be performed to give Asian eyelids the double crease, thereby also allowing the eye to appear wider and larger. Most patients who have had this procedure done are extremely happy and note that eye makeup is much easier to apply afterwards. They are highly satisfied with the new appearance of their eyes.

Ear Reshaping/Otoplasty

“Dumbo” or prominent ears can cause afflicted patients much psychological anguish. Many children with protuberant ears are teased. Fortunately, surgical correction can reshape and set back the ears to a more aesthetically desirable position. Otoplasty for children is best done around the age of 7 or 8 to help them avoid the childhood teasing, but for any patient older, this procedure can be performed at any time. Women who have undergone otoplasty commonly begin to wear their hair up or in a ponytail, whereas prior to the procedure they used their hair to cover their prominent ears. If you find that you are also self-conscious about the appearance of your ears, make an appointment today with Dr. Lee. She will be more than happy to discuss your options with you.

Fat Injection and Transfer

Fat can be removed via liposuction from sites such as the abdomen and thighs. This fat can then be processed and re-injected to other sites such as face, buttocks, or breast. Fat transfer can be a very useful adjunct to surgical procedures such as face lifting and breast surgery. While not all of the fat that is transferred “survives,” the fat that does remain in place is usually permanent. In the ideal candidate, fat transfer can even be a feasible alternative to filler injections. Fat transfer surgery can usually be performed in the office setting.
